Today’s journey takes you over the Dochula Pass, a high mountain pass adorned with 108
chortens (stupas). On a clear day, the pass offers a breathtaking 180-degree view of the snowcapped Himalayas.
Descend into the warm, fertile valley of Punakha, home to the stunning Punakha Dzong. This
architectural masterpiece, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, is a
symbol of Bhutan’s spiritual and political heritage. Later, cross the Punakha Suspension Bridge,
one of the longest in Bhutan, for stunning views of the river and surrounding landscapes and
also visit Chimi lakhan ,also known as the Temple of Fertility. This sacred site, surrounded by
lush rice fields, is believed to bless childless couples with fertility.
